What every girl needs: a simple, gorgeous plunge bra

Here at Knickers HQ, we do a lot of lingerie phone-shopping. That is, Alison and I sit on the phone with our laptops, IMing each other links, and cooing over various pieces of lingerie (we lost hours one afternoon at Guia la Bruna’s site). Half of the posts you see here at Knickers started as a phone session, where we’ll practically duct-tape our wallets shut trying to resist the onslaught of beautiful lingerie, then pass the same problem along to you. It’s a pretty tough job.

Our latest phone-shopping session? We were looking for a simple plunge bra, but being spoiled lingerie experts, wanted something that was a little extra-special (after all, Katie’s got all the bargains covered). Luckily, Rigby and Peller’s excellent online store offered a great choice for both of us, and for all of you!

A-D Plunge Bra: Aubade’s Soft Seduction

Aubade got their product name spot-on with “Soft Seduction.” This set is simple, functional, and beautifully soft, blending practical microfiber mesh with sumptuous tulle to create a sexy peek-a-boo effect. We love the tiny details like the crystal-dropped bow on the bridge, the very-tiny detailing along the cups, and best of all, we love the fact that the bra will stay invisible under your favourite white Oxford shirt. There’s even a strapless version (pictured above), which is perhaps even more sweet and sexy.

Soft Seduction is a brilliant blend of practicality and style — we just wish it were available in more sizes. You can buy the Soft Seduction bra in cup sizes A-D for £51 at Rigby and Peller, or get the strapless version in B-D for the same price. There are equally-stylish matching knickers available for about £30.

E-G Plunge Bra: Prima Donna’s Menton

That’s all very well for some of us, but what about us larger-cup sizes? That’s where Prima Donna comes in, with their pale “Menton” bra. Instead of blending opaque and transparent like Aubade, Prima Donna has gone for a matte-versus-gloss contrast, setting off the supportive fabric with Leavers lace.

The plunge bra (pictured right, top) is available up to a G-cup, but H-cups can still grab the full-cup version (pictured right, bottom). For once, the larger-cup pick is less expensive – the plunge Menton is £49, and the full-cup is £45. Also don’t miss the matching underwear, which is perhaps even lovelier than the bras.
