The Lake and Stars Lingerie
June 28, 2007 by Danae

The luxury lingerie market is certainly hotting up these days — labels are popping up all around the world to cater to our chic inner sex kitten. The latest on our radar is The Lake and Stars, a New York label named after an old Victorian term for a satisfying woman (“She gave me the lake and stars last night.”). Created by two seasoned lingerie designers, the label celebrates a cheeky sexuality with vintage details and modern fabrics. Their Spring/Summer collection includes teddies, bralettes, suspender sets and — our favourite, beautiful trenchcoats worn on the runway with the pieces. There’s a great androgynous vibe going on with some of their pieces (example 1, example 2), oozing a casual, confident kind of sexuality that sneaks up on you.
For a new label, The Lake and Stars has certainly done well for stockists — you can find them at ShopBob, Lille Boutique, Diana Kane, Active Endeavours, and a dozen of boutiques. ShopBop has the biggest collection online, and that’s where you’ll find the two sets pictured above, along with this lovely set:

We just love this simple little set — it’s perfect for summer, sexy, and made with our favourite fabric, super-soft modal. The camisole is $92 and the tap pants are $49 — both available in sizes XS to L. ShopBop ships worldwide, so everyone can spoil themselves with this lovely new label!
