Oh, Aubade. It’s not as if we didn’t already love you — your beautiful colours, great fit and stunning detail have always made you a required classic for lingerie lovers. But now, you’ve gone and created an extra-special, ultra-fashion line that just blows us away. “Lingerie de Luxe” is Aubade’s answer to directional designers like Chantal Thomass and Yes Master, proving that even an institution in lingerie can reinvent itself.

The first collection for Autumn/Winter 07 featured one of my favourite Aubade pieces yet, the beautiful “Palatine” half-cup bra (pictured above left). The tulle and mesh covering the cups has been subtly ruched, creating a warmer, softer look that’s accented by the unique lace straps. The straps are set apart more than usual, accentuating the balconette design to create a really romantic shape. More than any of that, it’s just a beautiful bra. Considering the exclusiveness of the line, it’s not even ridiculously expensive — the bra is £65 at Silk Storm. Also in the Winter catalogue is the stunning Frisson Chantilly series, which has a stunning bra shape that looks suspiciously similar to the Ritratti Star Cup. Litigation, anyone?

If you like winter, you’re going to love Spring. The new “Fleur Merverilleuse” (pictured above right) is just gorgeous. We’d love to talk more about the beautiful halter shape, the amazing embroidery and the deliciously naughty quarter-cup bra, but we can’t stop staring at the set. The set isn’t on sale yet, but we’ve heard from Silk Storm that they should be in stock late March/early April. Plenty of time to save your pennies, girls!
