Product Review: Miss Mandalay Emerald
June 14, 2006 by Danae

As mentioned in this week’s bra-fitting poll, I’ve just been re-fitted today, and my suspicions were confirmed that I’ve gone up a cup size. Luckily, I also went down a band size, so it’s not all bad! I picked the Miss Mandalay Emerald set for my new size, and must say, it’s really a beautiful set — I think Miss Mandalay’s pieces often don’t look fantastic on the rack, but once you get them on, they suit large cups beautifully. I really love that this style is a balconette, which full-cup women will know is quite rare for anything above an F cup. I also love the colour (which is brighter than this picture), it’s perfect for summertime and warmer days. The emerald will especially suit paler skin, but is bright enough for any complexion.
The matching thong is lovely, and I’m quite happy to report that to Miss Mandalay, a size “Large” is actually a large, not some ridiculously small medium. I normally wear XL, and this L fits just fine. There’s also an XS for women who have the opposite problem of sizes running too large.
The best part about Miss Mandalay, of course, is that the bras are available in a great range of sizes — this set is available in back sizes 30-36, and cup sizes up to FF. The bra is £50 at Miss Mandalay’s site, and the matching thong is £23. On a bright day like today, this colourful, gauzy set seems like just what the doctor ordered. If you’re looking for a pick-me-up and can’t find anything special, this set might be just for you!
