First in our new ongoing series of product reviews, Scarlet Magazine’s founding editor Emily Dubberley tries out Panache’s “Venus” knickers and gives us the skinny. The “Venus” set is a favourite for the wedding day, so pay attention, all you brides-to-be!

Thongs are all very well, but sometimes you want a bigger ‘pant’, without having to sacrifice sexiness. This is where the Venus brief comes in. Made from black stretchy mesh and lace, these are sheer enough to be sensual without being so see-through that you show your pubes through them.
Although they look overly-large at first, once you slip them on, they cover your bum comfortably and sexily, with no lumps and bumps in evidence. And boy, are they comfy. OK, so they’re not going to win any awards for ground-breaking design, with no detailing other than the discreet lace trim and a small bow on the front, but they are pretty and will flatter almost every body shape.
A good solid wardrobe staple that won’t give you annoying VPL, these are the perfect pants for if you’re going on the pull but don’t want to look like you’ve tried too hard. Sexy without being slutty.
