Madame Gigi’s launch online store with hard-to-find lingerie
August 6, 2007 by Danae

As lingerie becomes increasingly popular on both sides of the pond, it’s becoming more and more difficult for a retailer to distinguish themselves from the rest of the pack; things like photography, branding and packaging make a real difference when vying for, and keeping, the business of lingerie lovers.
Luckily, newcomer boutique Madame Gigi’s has done their homework, and have just launched a great new website with a distinctive style and range of products. Their aim is to be fashion-forward, flirty and modern, and they pull it off with a distinctive site design and logo, but above all, with a killer range of designer brands difficult to find anywhere else.

Remember Honey Rider, the Yes Master diffusion line that we all went so crazy for last year? It’s since been reinvented as Honey, and Madame Gigi’s is the only place we know where you can buy it. The Madame has two pieces from the collection, the sweet polka-dot halter set (pictured above), and a fun ruffly “layer cake” set also in pink, decorated with a random dotty print. At £46 and £48, respectively, these Honey sets are all we ever hoped for: catwalk designs at high-street prices.

The hard-to-find lingerie doesn’t end there – Madame Gigi has also introduced us to the amazing Le Trousseau De Margaux, a French brand that they will be carrying exclusively in the UK this Autumn/Winter. Madame Gigi describe the label as “French without the frou frou,” add we’d like to simply add: le swoon. This silky, simple label is absolutely gorgeous, and we can’t wait to see it for sale. Until their pieces hit the site, definitely make time to go check out Le Trousseau’s website (the set pictured above is here). Madame Gigi’s seem pleased as punch to be stocking them, and we can understand why.
The site currently carries Yes Master itself, Twisted Thrift (another harder-to-find label, but only one set for now), So Shei, and the lovely English designer Fleur T. There are plans to add more labels during Autumn/Winter, so sign up for their newsletter to keep an eye on the site. US readers, they also ship internationally – just e-mail them for a shipping quotation for your country.
Madame Gigi’s is based in Glasgow, and is a perfect example of the urban, fashionable style of the Scottish city. While rival Edinburgh is known for its classical architecture and beauty, Glasgow is the edgier, fresher, and more modern metropolis. We might be devoted Edinburgers here at Knickers, but we’ve gotta say score one for Glasgow and Madame Gigi’s!
