The short version: this bra is fantastic – the straps are a bit fiddly, but the support and shape make it worth it.

When Fantasie announced their a multiway bra to their popular Smoothing range, I knew i had to try it – as a G-cup, convertible bras are harder to come by, and the right one can be a lifesaver when wearing strapless and halter tops. I’ve tried it out over the past few weeks, and have to say – this bra is awesome. It’s got a few faults here and there, but this new multiway has found a place within our wardrobe.

The Fit

The fit of this bra is brilliant – the band has a snug, comfortable feeling and gives great support for the breasts. I noticed an instant lift when I put on the bra, and found after extended wear that the band didn’t ride down or lose support. As you can see from the photo above, the supporting wires will sit below your breasts which is initially a little weird, but I think is actually why the bra gives such great support.

The moulded cups were initially a bit weird for me – I’m not used to wearing them, and worried that they might not fit my breast shape. Luckily, while the cups are a slightly different shape, they fit comfortably and give a fantastic pert silhouette under a tee-shirt – there is a definite noticeable lift!

The multi-way straps

Fantasie Smoothing Multiway Bra - Back View
The only small fault I can find with the bra is its straps – in creating a multi-way, Fantasie gives you the option to move your straps around, but we found the hooks a bit loose. When you take the bra off, you might find the straps have fallen away on a few sides, which can get pretty annoying.

Even so, the straps are secure when the bra is on, and the multiway works well: we wore the bra as a halter with the regular strap instead of the clear ones provided, and it sat comfortably and invisibly under our halter top. The racerback style works great as well – in fact, we’ve taken to wearing the bra as a racerback most of the time, as it feels more secure and comfortable.

Overall, this bra is a great multiway choice for larger-cup women, and will work with a variety of different tops. If you’re not so fussed about the multiway but want the great support, check out the rest of Fantasie’s Smoothing range (UK, US) for other options.
