La Perla, La Perla, we love you, La Perla!

Sometimes we try to avoid covering La Perla because it’s already such a big name in lingerie and the sizing is barely above a C-cup, but their stuff is really just too hard to resist! What finally brought down our iron curtain? This beautiful “After Hours” set (pictured above left) from the Italian brand, in a gorgeous brown silk chiffon adorned with delicate Leavers lace. Sure, it’s only available in B and C cups and sure, the bra alone is $254, but who could resist such a beautiful set?

If you can’t quite stomach the amazing prices, La Perla offers a variety of sub-brands, one of the most affordable being Occhi Verdi. Within this label you can find cheeky little collections like this green and pink set (pictured above right) for a much more reasonable £47, or $85 in the US. If you’re still craving beautiful bargains, definitely check out GlamOutlet, the official discount distributors of La Perla — the site is a little difficult to navigate and priced for Europe, but has an astounding collection of La Perla’s pieces.

La Perla isn’t just about ridiculously ornate sets, though — they also have a more practical side, and have produced one of the best solutions I’ve found for brides on their wedding day: a strapless, backless bra/bustier perfect for those impossible-to-accessorize-with wedding dresses. The bustier is available for £57 in the UK and $109 in the US, and while it’s in limtied sizes, will be perfect for those lucky enough to fit it.

It’s a shame that La Perla’s funny and limited sizes means that nobody above a D-cup can enjoy their lingerie, but their pieces are undeniably beautiful — maybe we should start covering a wee bit more of them?
