Knickers re-launches with new features!

The day has finally arrived, we are now Knickers 2.0! After over three years of working within the lingerie industry and getting to know our amazing readers, we had quite a few things we wanted to update on the site, and we couldn’t be more delighted with this launch. We still don’t have all the planned features implemented, but let’s take you through what’s new at Knickers:
Changes at Knickers
New Design!
First and foremost, we have a slick new design! Our main goal in re-designing the site was to give readers access to more information in fewer clicks, but we also wanted to widen-out the layout for easier reading and for bigger images. The Knickers logo has gotten a lot bigger and a little more attention, and we’ve introduced some bold new colours to help you keep our different sections apart. And what are these new sections, you ask?
Introducing the Knickers Quiz
Longtime readers will know that we developed a set of Virgin to Vixen personalities for our Valentine’s and Christmas buying guides. We’ve now added a Knickers Quiz to the site that will let you find out which of our seven personalities you are. Each personality has their own page, which only shows related Knickers articles and links. We’ve always tried to cater to a wide range of lingerie styles here on the site, and we hope the new quiz will make Knickers even more useful!
Bargains 2.0
Knickers Bargains got an upgrade too – we’ve integrated the blog into Knickers itself, making Katie’s brilliant bargains that much easier to find and use. We’ve also added a coupons corner onto the Bargain page, where you can easily spy great deals as Katie updates them.
New Homepage
Rather than just showing blog posts, the new Knickers homepage will feature the latest posts in each lingerie personality category, along with the latest post made to the blog. We’ve also created a special section for Lingerie News (bottom left), and have added our Twitter stream onto the site so you can see what we’re up to. The homepage will likely keep evolving as we settle in to the new design, we’re hoping to make it even more useful in the future. If you preferred the old homepage, don’t worry! You can still see the old homepage style on our Blog homepage.
New Weekly Newsletter
As we explained in our last post, we’re moving to a fixed weekly newsletter for the new site. Instead of sending out a new e-mail with every update, this new newsletter will collect all of the site’s updates into one e-mail – including Knickers posts, bargain posts, coupon codes, and Ask Knickers questions. Subscribers will still be able to read the full posts in their inbox, the only real change is fewer, longer e-mails. We’re looking into offering different emails for different parts of the site, and will keep you updated. The first weekly newsletter will go out next Wednesday, the 1st of October.

Hello All- I have a couple of suggestions to make with regards to the new look (excuse the criticism- it’s constructive, honest!)
Your feeds- Is there any way you could make separate feeds for the blog, bargains etc? At the moment the bargains are contained within the blog feed as well as the bargains feed. I read Knickers when my RSS bookmark lets me know it’s been updated; I am now getting repeated entries.
Also, the coupon offers show up in the blog feed and therefore it’s a little confusing when you browse the blog to find they’re not actually posts on the blog itself. Perhaps a feed for the coupons?
Maybe it’s because i’m a fan of stripped down design that works in an efficient way but I must say I preferred the simpler, get-the-job-done layout and content of Knickers 1.0.
I’ll continue to read your site because of the content within but I will miss the lack of complexity and streamlined design of the old site.

Thanks very much for your feedback! You’re right, for those readers who just want the blog, there is a lot of other stuff competing for space in your RSS readers now! We are looking right now at trying to do separate feeds, and will keep you updated via the blog.
Just a quick note to say that i’ve now changed the main Knickers RSS feed to display blog posts only, and i’ll be posting a list of seperate feeds for coupons, bargains, etc. to the blog in the next few days. We hope that will give readers more flexibility on how they’d like to read the site!
