Knickers launches “How to become a lingerie designer” series

July 28, 2006 by

As you will have noticed, we’ve posted the first part of an article series, titled “How to become a lingerie designer.” We started this series to help aspiring designers learn the ropes of the industry early on, and hopefully avoid some early mistakes so their beautiful new brands would succeed. The series is a result of our own research and experience in the industry and is underpinned by invaluable input from lingerie designers themselves. Already, we’re getting feedback on the series — Gentry de Paris has kindly pointed out that we haven’t focused enough on gaining funding for your new label, so we’ll be adding an article in the series covering that topic.

Our next article in the series will go up next week, and until then we have another surprise for you — a Bargains Editor! Longtime readers may remember when the talented author of Moose in the Closet guest-posted for us at Knickers, and we now have her back as a dedicated Bargains Editor, focusing on finding great lingerie deals for our readers. We’re just getting her set up and learning the ropes, but expect a weeky bargains roundup to begin very soon.

Until then, it’s back to regular Knickers programming — as always, if anyone has any questions or feedback, just drop Danae an e-mail!

i know… when is this author going to finish what she started off with? At the end of her first article of this series, she promised – “Our next article, “Learning to design lingerie,” will go into the details about how to learn this difficult craft and how to find the resources you’ll need to support you.” but it seems like she just completely dropped the ball.

Doesn’t anyone at Knickersblog look @ these remarks?? Or their emails?? Like Danae??? NO!! I emailed and posted remarks several weeks ago! There are lots of us that would like to read the rest of this article any day now. We would like all of the contacts and information we were told we could find in this series. Where is it????????? And when can we read it???

Whoa, hey guys! We are reading this and mainly haven’t responded because we feel so bad that we haven’t had the time to get back to this series yet — trust me when I tell you that we hear you and we ARE taking your frustration seriously! This series is a huge time commitment which we just don’t have the resource to put to right now, but we will come back to it. I can’t apologise enough and I’m sorry that we’ve frustrated you!

One of the reasons that we started the Knickers Community was to give people like you a place to all talk together and share ideas for how to get started — there’s a Budding Designers group at the community designed specifically for this.
