Holiday Haul Rave Product Reviews – Accessories

February 26, 2010 by Katie

Between Christmas & Valentine’s Day there have been some great sales…too great for me to pass up.    Here are just a few of the goodies I’ve purchase and my review.  Upcoming reviews on my new lingerie and dressing gowns are also on their way.   From the title you already know that I love, love, love my new things but if you read further you’ll find out why.

JimmyJane Blindfold & Little Something

Jimmyjane had quite the holiday sale with free shipping, at one point, on all orders.  I love JJ’s massage candles because they smell fantastic, they are fabulous for massage or just a warm body oil on chilly mornings.  So during the sale I also picked up the Wink Silk & Suede Blindfold ($20 on sale) and the Platinum Little Something.  First the tiny extra touches are lovely on the blindfold, although I wasn’t overly impressed with the silk considering it retails for $65.  The Platinum Little Something is really something else and where I could never justify almost $400 for a vibe, at $100, it was a must have -due to a generous bonus!  It works like it should and it’s so d*mn decadent…It’s made of platinum, flawlessly smooth and elegantly discreet.  As the kids would say I luurve it!  The blindfold is no longer on sale but they do show up on ebay from time to time.  Shown: The Platinum Little Something is on sale for $200 -rrp. $395.

Paul Seville Leather Mask

I’ve been lusting after Paul Seville’s Leatherwork from the moment I saw in real life while visiting Los Angeles.  I was fortunate to pick up one of his leather bubble masks during his sample sale for 70% off.  It’s as sublime as it is erotic, easily going from the bedroom to an elegant masquerade party.  If you live in London, have a friend or relative that is not shocked by his work, he is having more sample sale this weekend at Coco de Mer on 108 Draycott Avenue, South Kensington, London SW3 3AE and at the Somerset House, London WC2R 1BL, Stand no: 6.04 in the Galleries – L2.  Shown: The Leather Bubble Mask @ Coco de Mer Los Angeles $295.

Rescue Beauty Lounge Bath & Body @T.J. Maxx

Once an a great while Rescue Beauty Lounge has a sale and when they do it’s news across the blogsphere.  I was able to try this line during their 75% off Bath & Body sale (this has only happened once to my knowledge).  So imagine my surprise when I saw it at my local T.J. Maxx (on clearance no less) at approximately 90% off.  These luxurious creams, gels and lotions are delicately scented, beautifully packaged and run between $20 for an 5.1 ounce bottles to $68 for the 18 ounce rich, yet light, body creams.  I was able to pick up some of the body creams and the 23 oz body wash for less than $20, it’s worth checking your local TJM for these bargains.

Miller Harris Perfume @Sephora

Nothing completes a boudoir like perfume and very few perfumes are like Miller Harris.  Always complex, Miller Harris, created by British perfumer Lyn Harris,  scents are unique and enticing.  She creates fragrances for private clients as well as for her boutiques in London, Paris, and Japan.  The closest I’d been to Harris’ perfume was a sample at Sephora in Las Vegas and of course I loved it, but $140 a bottle was unlikely, but at $60 during the Sephora Sale I was finally able to pick up a bottle.  Still a splurge (justification alert!) but when was I going to get another chance as Sephora has discontinued the line and the MH online shop is unavailable to US customers.
