Peek at Parisian lingerie at Chantal Thomass’s new website
July 24, 2006 by Danae

Chantal Thomass, an institution of French lingerie who invented the style “Dessous Dessus” (innerwear as outerwear), has finally launched a website to show off her collection. Thomass is well-known for beautiful fabrics, haute couture styling and dramatic colours, and the website takes great effort to bring across that fun, decadent feeling. The site doesn’t show you a photo gallery of the latest collection, it takes you through a epilepsy-inducing multimedia tour of the collection, from women walking a goat in their beautiful basques to enjoying a literal romp in the hay. The stockings section is a bit more fun, letting you roll over each leg to get a sneak peek at the new hosiery collection (but you can also just view them if you can’t be bothered exploring).
The site offers no e-commerce (or even static product photos), so if you want to buy anything, you’ll have to turn up to Chantal’s boutique in Paris or check out some of her online stockists. The best online stockist is Cazar in Germany (priced in Euros), and in the English-speaking world, we found some of her old collection at Underwear Options,
If you’re crazy about opulent, ridicoulsly extravagent and beautiful lingerie, definitely go and have a peek at Chantal’s new place — but be warned, turn down your speakers! Thanks to Petite Coquette for the tip!
