Our Editorial Policy
The short version of our policy for writing articles is this: we write about lingerie that we love, and we don’t take payment for any of our articles. We want to bring fabulous lingerie to women everywhere, and we can’t do that if they’re worrying about our ethics. Please do not offer us anything in exchange for an article — if you do, we’ll be very disinclined to cover you at all, lest we encourage this behavior.
If we can’t pay you for articles, how do you make your money?
We make our money through advertising, which is clearly marked on the site. We also participate in retailers affiliate programs, but only use affiliate links if it’s appropriate for the article. You’re more than welcome to get in touch with us about advertising – just e-mail Danae at danae@knickersblog.com.
I want Knickers to write an article about my brand. What do I do?
Just send us an e-mail! We love hearing from designers and retailers that want to tell us about their brand, and would be delighted to get an e-mail from you. Feel free to send our details to your PR people, and drop us an e-mail when you’ve got exciting news.
Here are some things we’d love to hear from you about:
- A new designer or collection
- A fabulous event you’re holding (send photos!)
- A great bargain (see our bargains page section below)
- A discount you’d like to offer Knickers readers
- A new site, new design, anything you’re excited about that you want to share
We won’t, however, cover everyone. Just like any magazine, we have a variety of decisions to make about the articles we write, so please don’t take offense if we don’t write about you.
I have a lingerie bargain – will you cover it?
If you’ve got a great deal going on, send the details to Katie at katie@knickersblog.com, who looks after our bargains. Again, we can’t cover every bargain but we’ll definitely have a look at your fab deal.
Our Review Policy
Knickers often reviews lingerie products for its readers, rating the products on a scale of affordability, quality, and other key indicators to help women find lingerie they’ll love. If you are a designer or retailer who would like to have your product reviewed, please follow the guidelines below:
* Given the nature of lingerie, we’re not able to return any samples sent to us.
* Sending us a product unsolicited will not guarantee you a review. Please get in touch beforehand to say hello and tell us about your product. We’ll let you know if we’d like to review it, and will give you the details for sending it along.
* We have a number of writers spread across the world who review our pieces, so nearly every conceivable size is covered — just get in touch!
* Sending us a sample does not guarantee a positive review – we will be completely honest about the product, and can only promise that if we do love it, we’ll shout it from the rooftops! We aren’t in the business of lambasting brands, though — If we don’t think your product is appropriate for Knickers, we’ll usually just decline to review it at the start.
* In rare cases, we reserve the right to not publish a review about a sample that we have accepted. Reviews are written for our readers’ benefit, so if we feel uncomfortable about the brand, we will not publish a review. If a product has not been worn, it will be sent back, otherwise it will not.
* If you don’t sell the product yourself, please don’t send it to us for review just to get a link. Our readers are paramount, and we don’t want to annoy them with intermediary links when all they want is to find the product.
