As a lingerie aficionado, half of the excitement of seeing a new collection is beholding the stunning photography behind it — every season we look forward to the rich imagery in lookbooks of designers like Fleur of England (formerly Fleur T), Miss La La’s Boudoir, and Chantal Thomass (warning: sound!). It’s fun to imagine yourself in the same set of lingerie, but you could never create such a stunning photo — or could you?

The growing trend of boudoir photography says yes, you can be a lingerie model, and can take stunning photos in your lingerie for yourself and those lucky few you share it with. You don’t need to be super-skinny or super-curvy or super-glamorous, you just need the confidence to book a session, and let the photographer worry about making you look amazing. There are a wide variety of boudoir photographers, and their offerings can include anything from an entire package of a boudoir set, stylists and props to minimal packages that allow you to choose the location and manage everything yourself. We love the idea of booking a weekend away at a gorgeous B&B or spa and getting your boudoir on while you’re there!

The boudoir photography trend is very popular at the moment, so you are likely to find a photographer in your local area. Many wedding photographers now offer this service, and some professionals are dedicated specifically to boudoir photography. Just Googling around will find you a huge amount of choices, but here are two places that stood out to us:

Lily Kesselman is a New York-based wedding photographer who opened Urban Boudoir due to popular demand from her brides. Urban Boudoir offers styling options, and will come to your own home or limited hotels to capture some gorgeous images. All sessions will include a boudoir book of your best images, or a framed archival print. Miss Boudoir
Miss Boudoir is a dedicated boudoir photographer based in the UK, and they have a huge gallery of boudoir photography to inspire you, from vintage and pinup style photographs to the very sensual and romantic. They offer packages including styling, a huge studio with different “rooms,” and various props — all you have to bring is your lingerie. They are surprisingly affordable, with packages starting at £200-£300.
