Essential Lingerie Accessories

October 18, 2007 by Danae

We’ve been going a little crazy lately with all the ooh-la-la-lace articles, so we thought we’d shape up and offer something a little more practical: lingerie accessories. Lingerie isn’t all silk and satin, it’s also the army of clasps, tapes, hooks and adhesives that help hold us in place. Here are some new lingerie accessories that caught our eye:

The Bosom Button

The Bosom Button
Larger cup women know all about The Gap, where an over strained button-down shirt can pop open at inopportune times. May of us have sworn off the style entirely, but there’s help on the way. The Bosom Button aims to aid us all by giving us a simple pin to hold our shirts in place. Sure, it’s not the most original idea, but it’s nice to have a (relatively) cheap, simple solution to hand without having to hunt around.

The pins come in a variety of colours, and while we wish there were more non-crystal options, there’s a good enough selection to work with a variety of wardrobes. The pins are $12 each, but for $25 you can get a set of three, perfect for keeping a few in the handbag in case of fashion emergencies.

Fashion First Aid’s ‘Concealits’

Concealits by Fashion First Aid
The Useful Chick Stuff company of “Liftits” fame have re-vamped their line as Fashion First Aid, and have introduced some excellent new products for women. We tested out their new “Concealits” nipple covers at a trade show, and these things are freaky-good. The gel pasties are soft and actually feel like skin, and create a perfect opaque cover over the nipples. The best part is, they’re re-usable — one pair should last for about 20 applications, which is great value for the £9 price tag at ASOS. U.S. readers, ASOS also ships internationally, or check out the stockist page at Fashion First Aid.

Bring It Up’s Smooth and Lift

Bring It Up Smooth and Lift
Bring it Up have combined two great products into one, creating a lifting nipple cover that both supports and conceals without a bra. To see how it works, just check out this (not safe for work) instructional video. The Smooth and Lift is also re-usable (up to 25 times), and is $25 for a set – a buck per use. That’s pretty good, a buck barely a Coke these days!
