Dramatic, romantic pieces from Suzanne Ermann

Suzanne Ermann Suzanne Ermann

We first spotted Suzanne Ermann at the Paris Salon earlier this year — in fact, it was hard to miss her. Set amongst a sea of bright bra-and-knicker sets, Ermann’s pieces looped, swirled, and swept your attention to them. This designer has a flair for the dramatic — your first reaction is confusion, then you quickly realise why you’re so drawn to this dramatic fashion – it’s straight out of a fairytale.

Strictly speaking, Suzanne Ermann is not a lingerie designer. Her collection includes dresses, stoles, ponchos and covers, basically anything but a bra and pair of panties. But that’s why we love it — these pieces complete the look, add a pointedly dramatic flair to finish off a fabulous ensemble. Sure, you might only wear it a few times a year, but each time will be memorable.

We want a Ermann stole just like we wanted this Emporiana sheer top — it’s not a very practical piece, but isn’t it special? Unsurprisingly, the prices are just as special — stocked at Mio Destino, the stole (pictured above left) will run you £120, and the perfectly-French-wedding-dress is £400. It’s a shame French couture costs so much, but then again, that’s what makes it special!
