Design Houses Turning to Men?

October 31, 2005 by

Men’s underwear is an interesting animal. There are dominant players in the design space, but many of these shops serve the male+male audience. You may find an average Joe wearing 2xist or Calvin Klein, but probably not much more. As reported previously, Aubade is releasing a male underwear line. It appears that other pillars of lingerie are entering the male market.

Elle MacPhereson Intimates has recently released a mens line. It follows the relatively safe Calvin Klein approach. You can find her designs at Zodee in Australia. Elle’s parent company has strong marketing power and I would suspect you will see this line at Figleaves within three months. Pick up the trunks for $21.32 or pick up briefs for $14.20.

La Perla has their own line for men going under the brand Grigioperla. You can find this at Bare Necessities. The “comfort line” is available for $37.00 and the silk boxers are $39.99.

Finally, Sloggi has turned their attention to the male market as well. You can find a broad selection online at Figleaves (use your coupon) . Pick up the trunk for £14.00 and the brief for £12.00.

Since the holidays are around the corner, leave a comment if you plan to pick up your man any designer lingerie.
