As a child I remember learning how to make recycled paper – it was a messy business and quite honestly it didn’t produce anything worthy of using a pen on. Whizz forward a few decades and recycled products have hit big business.

Of all the recycled products I’ve come across this has got to be one of the sexiest: recycled pine-tree fibre lingerie – made in France. This incredulous-sounding product is so appealing I’m willing to do pretty much anything to get my hands on it. Among its attributes g=98 lingerie boasts temperature-regulating comfort and cashmere softness – not necessarily what we’d expect to hear from a Pine tree.

At a pretty reasonable 28 Euros for a sexy shorty, I’m pretty much hooked. And as the shorty skips its way into my shopping cart, I’m finding myself clicking on ‘continue shopping’ as I wistfully look at the equally reasonable leggings!

No matter which lingerie personality you are, there’s sure to be a pair of comfortable cotton knickers filling a cosy place in your lingerie drawer. I recently discarded my old favourites and am still waiting to fill the void they left.

After much searching these rather lovely (in a comforting way) and simple silk and organic cotton knickers (£23.99) at Greenfibres attracted my attention. In terms of price they aren’t going to satisfy those who normally go for a five pack at the supermarket, but you can always treat yourself to one pair to go alongside your regular-priced cotton pants (for these try Gossypium, priced around £3)!

Unless you have a kind wallet, these aren’t going to be your everyday knickers; but considering they’re made to order and made of silk and English lace (all ethical of course), the price tag seems tame compared to some!

It’s easy to colour something ivory and declare it “bridal,” but I’ve learned in the past few weeks that picking bridal lingerie isn’t just a case of choosing something pretty in the right colours. All brides will have different needs based on their dress styles, bra size and countless other variables, but from what I’ve learned, there are a few things a bride will almost always need to count on:

A good bra – Rigby & Peller’s “Dragonfly”

English luxury lingerie label Fleur T is one of life’s little saviours: it’s sophisticated with a playful touch of girliness, and the bras are sexy while still incredibly wearable and designed to fit properly. When the Hiridjee sisters realised women were buying vividly-coloured, men’s boxer shorts (on sale at their gift shop) for themselves, they came up with the idea of creating a new lingerie label. Naming the label Princesse Tam Tam (after the 1930′s film starring Josephine Baker), the sisters collaborated with a designer to bring women a combination of unusual prints, attention to detail and a hint of cheekiness, which in the early eighties was virtually unheard of. Over twenty years later their fresh approach to lingerie design still stands, bringing us beautifully simple designs,attention to detail, and stunningly innovative prints.

The Pudding Set is a gorgeous example of Princesse Tam Tam’s enthusiastic and contemporary approach to lingerie; mint blue and summery yellows combined with almost autumnal golden shades gives the feeling of warm summer days, frolicking in golden straw fields without a care in the world.
