About Us
Knickers is a fashion weblog dedicated to all things lingerie: it features new collections, coupons, designers, and of course, points out beautiful lingerie for women every day. Our aim is to find something to suit every women, from the virgin to the vixen and everyone in between. Other people are starting to get pretty excited about Knickers, too — we’ve been featured by The Guardian, The Times, Lingerie Buyer, and named one of the Top 50 British blogs by .net magazine!
Knickers is all about helping women find lingerie that makes them both comfortable and confident — we aim to help women find their own personal lingerie style, from a well-fitting bra to an amazing silk set. We are read by buyers, designers, retailers and journalists, not to mention a healthy following of lingerie consumers! Features such as our Interview Series, Product Reviews, and our ongoing contests and lingerie guides have helped put us on the industry’s radar.
As we have an international audience, we try to feature products that are available in both the US and UK. You can quickly see where a product is available by checking out the flags under the title. About Danae and Alison

Danae: Knickers was founded by Danae Shell, who started the weblog after realising that there was no real place on the web to find practical advice about lingerie. Danae is a Tennessee girl who now lives in Edinburgh, Scotland — she fell in love with European lingerie after her emigration, and has never looked back. Her other careers have included e-government researcher, web programmer and web usability analyst. She is now a well-known insider of the lingerie industry, consulting with lingerie professionals to help bring their brands online.
Alison: Another woman between countries, Alison was born in London, raised in Germany where she became bilingual, and now lives in Scotland. She’s worked as a ballet teacher, chef, translator, but has always maintained a fantastic lingerie collection. She’s now added “lingerie blogger” to her list of accomplishments, and has become a well-known industry insider with impeccable taste.
Danae and Alison: Danae and Alison met at a party through a family friend, and within twenty minutes were locked in a bathroom together, consulting a woman concerned about her bra size (this happens a lot now!). After friends starting calling them the “Trinny and Susannah of underwear” they decided to work together at Knickers, and are now business partners.
