More Hot Swimwear For 2008 May 14, 2008

Last month we showed you some stunning Bikinis and Swimsuits;
as the season continues, we’re stumbling across more and more lovely Swimwear, and to make sure you find the perfect suit for your holiday, we will be updating you as it comes in. Today we’ve got some gorgeous pieces to complement different figures:

Fabucci Simply Perfect Bikini

Newly launched online Swimwear Boutique BikiniBeachStar has some fabulous swimwear on offer; it’s not often we find a decent boutique purely dedicated to swimwear, and with brands like Aqua di Lara , and Beach Bunny (a favourite among celebrities), we think it’s going to be worth keeping an eye on. Our hot favourite among the collections at BikiniBeachStar is this Fabucci Simply Perfect Bikini £118; it is ‘perfectly simple’ in style, yet its stunning mix of silver and gold gives it a contemporary and gorgeous look, complementing the ongoing ‘metallic’ trend brilliantly! It’s available as separates, and up to a UK size Large; we’re thinking this is one for the smaller boobed ladies out there as the support is minimal.

Rigby and Peller Larger Cup Bikini

Having mourned the loss of Rigby and Peller last year, we are delighted that they are now back on course with a new manufacturer, and a number of lovely lines. Swimwear is fast becoming the next ‘big thing’ and Rigby and Peller are following the trend with a range of gorgeous Swimwear, including this Underwire Balcony Bikini Top £64.95; the emerald-cut Swarovski Crystal between the bust makes this an elegant option for those who normally feel they have to forgo the bikini option for fear of boob-spillage. Sizes go up to a fantastic H cup, and there are several Bikini Bottoms to choose from, depending on your figure: we’re loving the Roll Top Bikini Briefs £39.95 which can be rolled up if you like a bit of tummy coverage, or rolled down for a more skirted look. We are aware, that the price isn’t in the modest category, but for the ultimate in support and fit, you really can’t go wrong with Rigby and Peller.
Rigby and Peller deliver worldwide.

Lisa Ho Cleopatra Swimsuit

Last Summer, Danae and I spent a bit too long swooning over a Lisa Ho Swimsuit in La Jolie Madame in Edinburgh; we loved the luxurious feel of the fabric, and the sheer elegance of the style which made us stare so much we were probably in danger of being thrown out of the shop. The beautiful Cleopatra Swimsuit £89, available at Idlewild, is a firm favourite with us; with its ruching on the front, it’ll be a godsend for those who love to hide their tummies, and with a ‘twisted band’ under the bust and a halterneck tie, it’ll look gorgeous on those who like to show off a bit of cleavage, without going over the top.
Idlewild deliver worldwide; for those in Australia, the Cleopatra Swimsuit is available at Daneechi

Madame V Sun Sirena Swimsuit and Nipple Covers

It might seem like pure indulgence, but we just adore this new swimwear range from Madame V; we’ve never thought of nipple pasties as swimwear, but it makes perfect sense: if you like to go topless, but want to maintain a weensy bit of modesty, or you’re afraid you might burn the sensitive bits, get yourself kitted out with these Sun Sirena heart-shaped nipple covers £35; cute and practical - you could hardly ask for more!
You’re not going to be plowing up and down the pool with this Sun Sirena Swimsuit £165, but you’re going to look amazing. Swimsuits aren’t always designed to be practical, some exist purely to create a stir and to make you look even more of a stunner! We’re thinking: this would be the perfect honeymoon swimwear for those who aren’t scared to show a little more than usual.
The new Madame V Sun Sirena Collection is available at Boudiche, who deliver worldwide.

Knickers Wins Fabbies Award! May 12, 2008

We’ve spent our weekend sifting through reams of nonsense as a result of yet another ‘Spam Attack’; Knickers has been through quite an ordeal in the last wee while, with hacking and spam attacks that have had Danae working around the clock. Luckily, with her encyclopedic knowledge of all things websitey (sorry for that word, Danae), and a fast-thinking mind, she has now fixed the problem, which hopefully means the ‘intruders’ have now been chased away for good.
Anyway, when we woke up this morning, we cheered up considerably when we discovered, to our delight, that we had won a ‘Fabbie‘!

Back in February, when we were nominated, we told you about the Fabbies Fashion Blog Awards which was set up by the well-known fashion bloggers: Fashiontribes, Bag Snob and Manolo’s Shoeblog. Gorgeous Gifts for Mother’s Day May 9, 2008

Mother’s day is all about spoiling moms, and making them feel special; if you’re still searching for a gift for your mom, don’t fret! With sleepwear, flowers and plants to suit different tastes, we have found a few ideas that will be perfect for pampering moms on Sunday.

Bedhead Fuchsia Rose Sateen Pyjamas

With a beautiful rose print on sateen cotton, these Fuchsia Rose Sateen Pyjamas by Bedhead $140 will be perfect for this time of year, they’ll be cool on warmer nights, and cosy enough to keep you warm if needed, and - they are just so pretty! If she’s the type of mom to only lie in once a year, she’s going to love being pampered with new PJs, breakfast in bed (when she chooses to wake up) and have a lazy morning to get prepared for the rest of her treats!

Il Cieli Reversible Silk Robe

Unless your mom is like one of those on Gossip Girl, she’s probably not indulged in anything luxurious for some time (somehow, they don’t feel they should!); it should never be forgotten that Mothers most likely indulged in something lovely before you were born, so why not now? So that she is reminded that she does deserve something beautifully indulgent, how about this gorgeously elegant Il Cieli Silk Robe $176 (until 12th May); it’s luxurious enough to make mom feel special, and cosy enough with its terry lining (we hate to say practical!) to keep her warm after a nice long soak in the bath.

Roses and Bulbs Every Month

If you are really going to spoil your mom, how about combining two gifts that she’ll adore? Roses each month (to go with her PJs), or a pot flower which she can plant in the garden afterwards and enjoy for years to come! The monthly Rose Plan starts at $139.99, and the Bulb Plan starts at $109, for three months.

Bodas Mousseline Chemise

When we think of moms, we tend to think of our own (I forget I’m a mom when it’s Mother’s day!), so we must remember that there are moms out there, who might feel like they have been a bit neglected post-babies. There is nothing better than feeling pampered when you’ve been hurtling around picking up diapers, wiping unknown marks off your top, or driving your kids here there and everywhere. A beautifully simple chemise, like this Cotton Mousseline Chemise by Bodas $144, available at Lille Boutique, will make all the difference to a mom who is usually so preoccupied with what the kids need, that she’s forgotten herself.

Texere Silk Royal Peacock Gown and Robe

You may remember, we reviewed Texere Silk’s robe, and chemise set last month; we still love them, not least because they are just so wearable, yet make us feel sexy and beautiful whenever we are encased in their silky loveliness. The print on this Royal Peacock Robe and Gown $259, is just beautiful, with luxuriant colours on gorgeous, cream silk. The sumptuously elegant robe and gown set is a perfect gift for any mom who normally makes do with threadbare pants and t-shirt, because they’re comfy and practical. Practical and comfy is great, so why not do it in silk instead?

More Treats with Bonsai Trees and Orchids

We love the idea of the monthly flower and plant plans, and we’re thinking: if the mom you’re buying for loves the idea of simplicity and elegance, why not give her orchids, or even a stunning bonsai tree. Not only will she feel gorgeous in her nightwear, but she’ll have a constant reminder about how special she is all the time.
The monthly Orchid plan starts at $149.99 for three months, and the Bonsai of the Month Club at $119.99

Hot Sports Bras for the Athlete, and Danae gets a Medal! May 7, 2008

We must start off by congratulating Danae for taking part in the Edinburgh 10k run last Sunday!
For the last two months she’s been training hard (while I’ve been feeling like a sloth), and it paid off: in spite of twisting her ankle after 6k, she completed the 10k in only an hour and 20 minutes - Go Danae!

Shock Absorber’s Sports Bra Top

Danae knows all too well that sweating and bouncing at the gym means serious support is needed, and we’re not just talking bootcamp trainers shouting encouragement. Whatever your cup size and activity, you’re going to need some sort of sports bra when you’re at the gym; the larger your bosom, the more support you’re going to need. If you want to concentrate on training rather than avoiding out-of-control boobs, get yourself a good, comfortable sports bra! Shock Absorber have long been one of the leading brands of sports bras, and as our very own athlete found out, it’s not as simple as just picking the right size; this Shock Absorber Impact level 4 D+ Sports top £27.99 not only goes up to a cool G cup, but with bright pink and purple looks seriously hot! Having invested in this bra, we’ll find out exactly what Danae thought of it, once she’s recovered from her exertion!

Anita Rosa Faia Extreme Sports Bra

We’re totally loving the look of this Anita Rosa Faia Extreme Sports Bra $54; the grey and black is far from the usual boring look of some sports bras, and it even has some shape to its neckline. Padded straps are provided for extra comfort, which will help those usually plagued with red marks after a slog at the gym. The Extreme bra is available from a B to G cup, which we’re most impressed with, given the usual offerings of up to a DDD cup (we’re still confused) for larger cupped ladies in the US. We’re thinking: even if you’re not into ‘extreme’ activity, this is going to be a bra worth investing in for when the girls are in need of some good support.
